My Trip to Manchester

Last week, me and Harry went to Manchester to see 5SOS and made a trip out of it. We stayed in a Premier Inn round the corner from the arena and the Arndale and it was one of the nicest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in, considering it was 40 something pound a night.

Getting tickets for Manchester was a spur of the moment decision. I wanted tickets THAT bad that I was willing to travel to the other side of the country to see them and I'm so so glad I did it. The 5SOS boys were incredible from start to finish. You can really see how grateful they are and into what they do. There was a moment when Calum sang his solo at the beginning of Amnesia, he stopped and we all sung the next few lines to him, it was so beautiful. I'm getting post concert depression just thinking about it!

Luckily the weather was nice on Wednesday so we spent the day at the Manchester Arndale. It's one of the best shopping centres in the country and I really recommend going. Around the outside there are some really great locations such as the seating area, the cathedral and the Printworks, which is where we went to the cinema in the evening to see Spy (which I also recommend going to see because Melissa McCarthy absolutely kills it) so you can make a day out of it as well as popping in for whatever you need. As the lovely girlfriend I am, I let Harry go to the National Football Museum and then took him over to the United stadium where he fangirled like crazy. We then went over to Media City where he got too overexcited that the national news was being filmed less than 200 metres away and then fangirled again when he saw the BBC Sport studio.

I really didn't want to go home on Thursday; just like last year I am seriously considering moving there when I finish uni because it is one of the nicest places I've been to in the UK and makes Seaford look like a shit hole.

Packing For..

This week me and Harry are going to Manchester to see 5 Seconds of Summer *enter fangirl squeal* so I've spent the weekend writing down everything I need and packing it all, which I find strangely enjoyable, so I thought I'd share a few of my packing tips with you.

1. List everything you need - For starters, what's not satisfying about writing lists?! And secondly, by writing down everything you're going to need a couple of days before hand, you can go back to it just before you pack and right anything else down that you hadn't thought of before, before you forget something by packing straight away... if that makes sense...

2. Organise your packing - For example: hand luggage, clothes for each day, underwear, wash bag, etc. It makes it a lot easier to see what you've got rather than having a pile of everything mixed together and you can then pack your bag strategically with clothes at the bottom, underwear last, etc.

3. Roll your clothes - Rather than packing your clothes flat, roll them up. It saves space and prevents creases.

4. Take note of your luggage allowance - We're not flying, but if you are it's important that you know how much you're allowed to take. Luckily this is the 21st century so 'the worlds lightest suitcase' exists, and a lot of airlines don't weigh your hand luggage so you can stuff some stuff in there. Try to save space by taking outfits that can use the same item of clothing more than once.

5. Use every available space - If you're taking shoes in your bag, use the insides of them to store items in, also, leave the smallest, most flexible items such as jewellery, underwear and socks till last so that you can fit them into any gaps between bigger items.

6. Don't pack anything unnecessary - Before you put everything in your bag, look through it all and think "do I really need this?". Things such as maps and guides can be found on mobile apps, some items of clothing can be used in more than one outfit, do you really want to take the risk of taking expensive items such as your GHD straighteners and hair dryer set? Don't forget you need that extra space for all of those things you're going to buy!!

Do you enjoy packing and travelling as much I do? Do you have any more tips to add?
