Strawberry ice cubes

With over two weeks of beautiful, hot, sunny weather I think we've all established that it's finally summer. It's time to bring the fresh summer fruits and the ice cold drinks out, but after having the idea of killing two birds with one stone, putting them together is 100x better.

I found inspiration of these strawberry ice cubes on Tumblr and whoever came up with this is a genius. They look so cute and make give your water a bit more taste, making the whole water-drinking experience a bit more interesting really.

They're so easy to make too, all you need is:

  • An ice cube mould (we've got ours from IKEA and they're made out of silicone so it's easy to pop them out)
  • Strawberries
  • A chopping board
  • A knife
  • A jug
  • Water

How to make them:

  1. Using the knife, cut the strawberries into small chunks on the chopping board and place them into each mould, depending on the size of the mould.
  2. Fill the jug with water and carefully fill each mould up. However don't fill it right to the top as the water needs space to expand when it freezes. (You don't have to use a jug, you can just put the mould under the tap, it just makes it a little bit easier)
  3. Place the mould into your freezer making sure that you don't spill anything and you have a clear space to put it.
  4. Leave in the freezer for 24 hours at the least.
  5. Once they've frozen you can pop them out into you drink and enjoy!

P.s. you don't have to use strawberries, me and Harry also tried it with grapes and I'm sure things like raspberries, blueberries and apples would work just as great too!

British Summer Time at Hyde Park 06/07/14

On Sunday Me and Harry went to the Barclays British Summer Time festival and it might have been the best day of the year so far. I was full of excitement all day, we saw Diversity, Scouting For Girls, The Vamps, Backstreet Boys and McBusted, ate lots of overpriced food and I experience the chaos of festival toilets for the first time which was absolutely terrifying.

Diversity and Scouting For Girls were the warm up of the day. They were both fantastic but the  atmosphere hadn't really collected at that point. For some reason we then decided that we were going to try and go foward a bit so that we could watch the Vamps more close up. Worst idea ever. I should've brought a stool or grown a few inches within the 10 minutes but I could not see a thing and had Harry giving me commentry instead. Afterwards we went back to our spot where we watched the first two and decided to watch the Backstreet Boys. We hadn't really planned to watch them so we weren't really sure what to expect but everyone around us was pretty hyped up about it. They were actually pretty amazing, everyone was dancing and I actually recognised some of their songs! But they did dance like my dad does when he's drunk..

Finally McBusted came on and once again they were absolutley incredible. At the beginning the heavens opened and everyone was rocking out in the rain and it was one of the best experiences of my life and a rainbow even appeard during 5 Colours In Her Hair. By this time the atmosphere was unlike any other and I think it was the best birthday present ever.

Daisy Obsession

 Pandora bracelet
Primark bikini - £4
Topshop scrunchie - £4
Daisy by Marc Jacobs perfume
H&M dress - £14.99
H&M playsuit - £12-14.99
Topshop mac - £48

I was looking through my warbrobe yesterday, when it occured to me that all I had been buying recently was covered in daisies! Other than a cardigan, a pair of shorts and another dress, this is pretty much my haul over the last couple of months. The River Island headband, the H&M playsuit and the Topshop rain mac are perfect for the festival season, especially when I go to Hyde Park at the weekend. Not forgetting the Topshop crop top which has pretty much become a staple in my wardrobe!

I can't sign this post off without mentioning Marc Jacob's Daisy perfume which I brought within a set at Gatwick Airport. I can't even explain it. The smell is AMAZING and the fact that the packaging is super cute makes it 10000x more perfect.
